Information
To make climate-relevant observations the vast ocean realm, non-scientific infrastructure, such as commercial ships, recreational vessels and off-shore energy platforms can be used. This requires devices that are easy to use by non-scientists: robust, ideally inexpensive and interoperable. This session explores how climate science benefits from science-industry-societal collaboration in increasing the knowledge of the ocean’s role in the climate system to jointly shape our future on this planet.
